Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to your questions

How do I get started?

Simply click the “Get Started” button and complete our new client form. Once submitted, our team will reach out during business admin hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, to learn more about your pet’s needs and determine the best fit for your family.

Do I need a Meet & Greet?

Meet & Greets are required for almost all services. The only exception is Vacation Companion Care for visitors traveling with their pets, where the pet parent must be present to introduce their pet to our team.
Meet & Greets allow us to learn your pet’s routine, discuss their care needs, answer questions, and make sure Paws Sitting Service is the right fit for both you and your pet.

Can I book online?

Yes! We use Time To Pet, a professional pet care software that makes scheduling, updates, invoices, and communication simple and convenient for our clients.

Do you send photos during visits?

Of course! Each visit includes photos, up to one video, a detailed report, and a GPS tracked dog walk, if applicable. Sitters are trained to take the best photos and videos possible.

Do you board pets?

No, we only provide in (your) home care. We find this keeps your pets at ease. We do require a Meet and Greet to go over their routine beforehand.

What are some tips to keep our pet happy while we're away?

Our main recommendation for anyone traveling is to book walks or enrichment visits with us before you leave. This allows your pet to interact with someone else, be familiar with us completing their routine, and gently ease into their parents being away. Other tips include providing extra treats and toys, as well as enrichment toys (think lick mats, puzzles, etc.). Please be wary of toys that could break and potentially be swallowed by the pet, though.

Will I have the same dog walker or pet sitter every time?

We operate as a team-based company. While we aim for consistency, multiple trained team members may care for your pet. This ensures we never miss a visit due to illness or scheduling conflicts. We have found that most pets enjoy meeting new faces (yes, even the shy ones!). If a pet is overly anxious or has a specific medical routine, we do limit the sitters and dog walkers.

How do you access my home?

We securely manage home access through lockboxes, keys, or entry instructions stored in your client profile. All details are reviewed before each visit to ensure safe and smooth entry.

What happens in an emergency?

In the event of an emergency, we will contact you immediately and follow your listed emergency contact instructions. If necessary, we will transport your pet to your preferred veterinarian.

What supplies should I provide?

Please ensure leashes, harnesses, food, and any necessary supplies are easily accessible and clearly noted in your profile.

Are you insured and bonded?

Yes! Paws Sitting Service is fully insured and bonded. Our team members are employees (not independent contractors), background checked, and trained in professional pet care.

Will I receive updates during visits?

Yes! After each visit, you receive a detailed report with photos, notes about your pet’s care, and GPS tracking information for walks.

Do you care for multiple pets?

Absolutely! We love multi-pet households. During your Meet & Greet, we will learn each pet’s personality, routine, and individual needs so everyone receives appropriate care.

When is payment due?

Payment is due 48 hours prior to the start of service. Beginning September 1, 2026, all clients must have a valid credit/debit card or ACH/e-Check payment method securely stored on file. Your scheduled services will be automatically charged 48 hours before care begins, allowing our team to focus on providing excellent care for your pets.

Do you accept cash?

Beginning September 1, 2026, all clients must have a valid credit/debit card or ACH/e-Check payment method securely stored on file. At this time, cash will no longer be accepted.

What is your cancellation policy?

Because we’ve reserved that time specifically for your pets and may have declined other booking requests, visits canceled due to an early return will be non-refundable. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice before the first scheduled visit will be charged 100% of the reserved services.

Once vacation pet sitting services have begun, no refunds or credits will be issued for unused visits, including early returns.

Exceptions may be considered for:

  • Death in the immediate family
  • Medical emergency involving the client or pet
  • Mandatory evacuation or natural disaster

Any approved credits must be used within 90 days of the issue date.

Do you work on Christmas and other holidays?

Yes! Our team provides pet care every day of the year, including major holidays. Because holidays require our pet care specialists to adjust their personal schedules and provide care when many people are spending time with family, a 50% holiday fee applies to help compensate our team appropriately.

Your pets deserve reliable care- even on holidays. We are honored to be there when you need us.
